We love our yumbox! My daughter’s favorite lunch is pb&j heart cut sandwich with strawberries, any veggie and yogurt. With honey teddy grahams in the little snack cup.

We LOVE Yumbox! Myself and my two children (9 and 6) use them everyday for lunches (whether they are in school or not!). 🙂 They are great for teaching to eat a variety and portion size of foods! Wonderful colors and designs!

I love cutting food into different shapes or wrapping sandwiches vs leaving them flat. My son loves snack lunches too – cheese and crackers with veggies and fruit!

  4. Kari August 7, 2017 at 9:22 am #

Packing lunches the night before and utilizing leftovers.

  5. Jill Shah August 7, 2017 at 9:23 am #

We use Yumbox all the time. Mini Yumbox works great for Greek yogurt and fruit (and maybe a few chocolate chips) while the regular size are perfect for lunch.

  6. Audrey Stewart August 7, 2017 at 9:24 am #

We love the carrots and ranch dressing to dip them in.

  7. Emily August 7, 2017 at 9:24 am #

As a nutritionist and food allergy mom, I always find myself packing lunches in components: some veggies, some fruit, a protein, a healthy fat, and a whole grain. The bento-style of packing really works for me, since it allows me to check off these categories easily and it keeps lunch time fun for the kids. I’d love to try the yumbox, especially since I’ve heard wonderful things about how leakproof the compartments are. Thanks for this opportunity!

  8. Troy August 7, 2017 at 9:25 am #

I like to fill the small circle with granola or other toppings when I pack yogurt.

  15. jacqueline jackson August 7, 2017 at 9:28 am #

Honestly, using our Yumbox is my lunch planning hack! Having the compartments makes it so easy to just fill each with a different food group (fruits,
Veggies, protein) and you’re ready to go. My child loves his lunch box. Thanks for making packing a healthy lunch easy.

  16. Colleen August 7, 2017 at 9:29 am #

  19. Jennifer August 7, 2017 at 9:30 am #

I absolutely love yum box, it’s a great way to organize your kids lunches and snacks.

  20. Anita Sears August 7, 2017 at 9:31 am #

Yumbox is the BEST! Fav hack is using frozen sponges in ziplock bags or frozen yogurt/drinks as ice packs.

  21. Cara August 7, 2017 at 9:31 am #

We love Yumbox! Last year was my daughter’s first year of kindergarten and we used one everyday she brought lunch to school. I love that nothing leaked from one section to the other and that they fit perfectly inside a standard lunch bag. I also love that they are hard so nothing gets smooshed!

  22. Marion August 7, 2017 at 9:31 am #

I do my best to pack (what will not get soggy) Mon-Wed lunches, water bottles, and snacks on Sunday. Utilize leftovers as well.

  23. Ashley Hong August 7, 2017 at 9:32 am #

I love that it helps me offer a variety of foods to my kids in good portions!!

  24. Kate Coppola August 7, 2017 at 9:32 am #

Like many kids, my son sticks his nose up a veggies! So, I’ve started making and packing cauliflower tater tots 🙂 Little does he know it’s a potato that he is eating but a veggie! I also ask him what the other kids have for fruit and pack that because he likes having similar foods as the other kids!

  25. Nickey August 7, 2017 at 9:32 am #

Having the yum box helps me to get creative and plan lunches that are aesthetically pleasing and healthy. I love checking other people’s ideas too!

  26. Amber Hernandez August 7, 2017 at 9:32 am #

I like to use silicone cupcake liners in the compartments to bring more color to the foods in them. Also packing a wide variety of colorful foods makes it more fun to eat as well!

  27. Barbara Mayes August 7, 2017 at 9:32 am #

Awesome combo for bringing snacks/lunch to the beach!

    • Cynthia August 7, 2017 at 9:37 am #

My favorite lunch hack is prepping the night before, sometimes using leftovers from dinner and adding in various snack-type items (and a little treat, of course)!

  31. Laura August 7, 2017 at 9:34 am #

I serve everything with toothpicks – cheese cubes, cut up deli meat, grapes, etc… give it a toothpick and my kids will gobble it up!

  32. Lori August 7, 2017 at 9:35 am #

Having several of the trays means that on Sunday afternoon I can pack for the entire week. Once the trays are filled, I cover them with plastic wrap and set them in our extra refrigerator. Each evening we switch out the empty tray for a full one. The next morning your lunch is ready to grab and go.

  33. Sarah August 7, 2017 at 9:35 am #

My favorite lunchbox hack is including a few chocolate chips as dessert. If the kids don’t use dip that day, then the Yumbox round compartment is a perfect place for the chocolate chips, but really any compartment will do.

  34. Ashlee August 7, 2017 at 9:35 am #

Love the convenience of having one container for my kids’ lunches instead of multiple small containers.

  39. Lauren August 7, 2017 at 9:39 am #

Packing a few lunches at a time. I have extra inserts for my yumbox with lids. I pack and stack the lunches in the fridge. Saves precious time in the evening instead of packing daily.

  40. jen in pa August 7, 2017 at 9:40 am #

i try to pack lunches the night before so we don’t have to tackle that in the morning!

  41. Denise August 7, 2017 at 9:40 am #

Not really a hack, but I recently discovered very minimally processed chicken breast kabobs at Costco. Making lunches has never been quicker! I also love buying frozen pomegranate seeds. They thaw, but at still nice and cold at lunch time and taste just as good as fresh for less money.

  42. Jennie August 7, 2017 at 9:43 am #

    We love yum box!!!!!

  53. Justina August 7, 2017 at 10:02 am #

Cutting things into shapes has helped with things my child might not normally go to but if it’s in the shape of a car no questions it’s gone!!

    • Kimi August 10, 2017 at 10:03 am #

My daughter is big on rice, so I mould these into different shapes and she counts how many she finishes for lunch in school. We’ve always wanted a yumbox! Perfect for my picky eater gradeschooler.

We use old plastic baby food containers to hold our hummus or dressings for our veggies or pretzels.

  67. Valerie Hare August 7, 2017 at 10:36 am #

My first child has used her yumbox lunch for two years now, and it shows no signs of breaking or looking “old.” One of my favorite lunch packing hacks is to prepare the lunch the night before from everything from the sandwich/wrap to the drink and napkin. This makes it easier to focus on getting ready in the morning for school and being able to leave prepared.

  68. Alicia August 7, 2017 at 10:36 am #

Love the yumbox! It helps my picky eater because each food is separated so he can see what he is eating

One of those sandwich cutters that cuts them into hearts.

  70. Dayna August 7, 2017 at 10:42 am #

I hated packing lunches before Yumbox. Mainly being limited on what you could pack with standard plastic baggies. Now I can send in so many more fresh food options and know the compartments wont leak! I’ve nearly forgotten how to pack a sack lunch!

  73. Catherine August 7, 2017 at 10:44 am #

We just got our first Yumbox and LOVE it so much!! It makes prepping their lunches ahead of time so much easier and the food stays fresh. My favorite lunch hack is making a little extra at dinner and saving the leftovers to use for lunch throughout the week. My girls tell me all the time how their friends ask if they can have some of their lunch instead of what is provided by the school. 🙂

  74. Kristen M August 7, 2017 at 10:45 am #

My favorite packed lunch is avocado, fresh veggies of cucumbers, carrots, celery, sweet peppers, etc, Wheat thin crackers, beef sticks and fresh fruit of some kind.

  76. Kati August 7, 2017 at 10:50 am #

My daughter loves when I make homemade pizza lunchables in her Yumbox! I use Hungry Girl’s fold it for the pizza, shredded mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices (both in silicone cupcake liners) and put marinara sauce in an old energy drink container. Squeezes in there just perfectly! 🙂

  77. Christa Lopez August 7, 2017 at 10:52 am #

I like using silicone cupcake liners to keep things separate within the larger sections.

  80. Candac3 August 7, 2017 at 10:55 am #

Grilled cheese sandwiches are great for lunch — just let the sandwich cool before placing in the box so it doesn’t steam and become soggy.

  81. Sadie K. August 7, 2017 at 10:56 am #

I free yogurt in silicone trays and pop them in the kids lunches in the morning. They are melted by the time the kids eat lunch!

  89. Kiley August 7, 2017 at 11:07 am #

Yumbox changed how we do lunches! It is easy to pack fun, fresh lunches without worrying if the little ones can open/ close a bunch of little containers. Perfect portions and most of all it makes everything look SO fun! I am grateful for Yumbox… my son has tried many new foods because of it!

  90. Rachel Bogdan August 7, 2017 at 11:10 am #

Our panino tray is about to go into its third school year, and the hard case lasted nearly two school years. Along with the insulated bag, this has been the best lunch box ever!

  95. Jaelene August 7, 2017 at 11:21 am #

My kids love their YumBox lunch boxes! I love the labeled portion areas so I can make sure they are getting a balanced diet. My daughter can’t wait to use hers this coming school year when she gets to eat lunch at school.

  113. Kimberly August 7, 2017 at 12:00 pm #

My favorite packed lunch hack is having the girls participate in packing their lunch the night before. Saves soooooo much time in the morning. (if they forget and complain about their lunch the next day, a gentle reminder that they can participate in packing their lunch the night before reminds them to take ownership over it and gives some control back to them.)

  114. Jen August 7, 2017 at 12:01 pm #

Lunch packing is so much easier in a yumbox! It works for us!

My favorite lunchtime hack is to chop or cut just a little more veggies from our dinners to use in the next day’s lunch, i.e. if we have zucchini noodles for dinner, I make extra that becomes a lion’s mane for my kiddo’s safari lunch the next day!

  124. Esther Liow August 7, 2017 at 12:34 pm #

Having an easily distracted eater, yumbox is perfect! He can open every section at the same time. This was the only product to result in a fully eaten lunch instead of coming home with only one container opened and eaten from. Thank you Yumbox! Love this product for serving fresh and healthy lunches to my kiddos!

  132. Tonya August 7, 2017 at 1:02 pm #

My favorite yumbox hack is to use press n seal wrap to seal runny items to help with easier clean up!

  133. Diana August 7, 2017 at 1:05 pm #

I’m a working mom and I had always struggled with how much food to pack my kids for lunch. When I discovered Yumbox it became a lot more easier to pack lunches. Its design helps you to just pack the right amount of food for lunches and packing lunches are a lot of fun. To be honest, after a long day at work, packing my kids lunch in their Yumbox is like a stress reliever for me; plus kids love how creative their lunches end up being. We love our Yumboxes and we would love to add more to our collection 🙂

  134. Elvira Gonzales August 7, 2017 at 1:07 pm #

Aww.. kind of bummed that I can’t enter since my Instagram is private and you won’t be able to see who I am tagging.

Leftovers make great lunches the next day! We cook a double recipe just so we can have leftovers.

  136. Monica Duncan August 7, 2017 at 1:09 pm #

I like making homemade lunchable type snacks with easy to eat fruit and freeze dried veggies (like okra or green beans) and it’s a win for the kids. If we had roast chicken for dinner I also sometimes make quick chicken quesadillas to add to their lunches, and if I add some sour cream in a little container the kids love it. Sliced hot dogs and a container of ketchup is loved as well. Or strawberries and yogurt to dip them in. So making things fun and easy to eat, and having a dipping option is a plus! Which makes containers necessary.

  137. Shannon Ferguson August 7, 2017 at 1:11 pm #

Love Yumbox lunchboxes! We love packing watermelon or any type of juicy fruit because it doesn’t leak or get the rest of our food soggy!

I don’t follow the “rules” of the Bento. Veggies usually fit better in the protein section and fruit sometimes fits better in the grains. We do what works best with the items we have.

  148. Gina August 7, 2017 at 1:49 pm #

  159. Sharee August 7, 2017 at 1:59 pm #

My favorite lunch hack is to cook and bake in bulk. Healthy muffins, scrolls, bliss balls etc and freeze. It makes that portion of the lunch box fast. Mixes it up from just sanwiches and makes it quick to then throw the other parts of the lunch together. Fruit, vegetable, dairy protein etc. i also precut a lot of fruit for several days. Love bento style lunches.

  160. Kate August 7, 2017 at 2:00 pm #

Love letting our kids get involved and make their own choices in each food group! Helps make sure they eat at least some of everything that gets packed! Thanks yumbox!!

  161. Jamie August 7, 2017 at 2:00 pm #

My favorite lunch hack is mini plastic food skewers, so much easier to pack then plastic ware!

  162. Nicole K. August 7, 2017 at 2:00 pm #

I packed lunches every School day since my oldest was in kindergarten (now i have high school, middle school, and elementary school age kids). I’ve learned to pack what I can the night before, (granola, napkin, utensils, etc) so that in the morning i can put together whatever hot or cold foods I need to make and just add them in. I’ll ask each kid what they want the night before so that I can be prepared the following morning. It really cuts down on time in the already hectic morning.

  163. KP August 7, 2017 at 2:01 pm #

Love the fact that it is easy to make a “grazing” lunch– the kids are so much more likely to eat that than they are a big meal!

    • Dana Verhoff August 10, 2017 at 8:44 pm #

I agree! Not only do my kids like to graze but so do I 🙂

  170. Sandra Caballero August 7, 2017 at 2:04 pm #

My 8 years old doesn’t have a lunch box. Last year I tried to do lunch for her by only packing her favorite healthy snacks. I had to use small ziplock bags. I want to change for good and keep earth clean by using a reusable lunch box. That way we help her school trash free. I don’t want my daughter eating the school lunches. They are nasty and unhealthy.

  171. Jessica August 7, 2017 at 2:05 pm #

  208. BonnieL August 7, 2017 at 3:43 pm #

Best lunch hack is PB&J on a tortilla. It’s different than your usual PB&J, can cut it into “sandwich sushi,” and it’s less bread. My kids usually only eat one slice of bread with their sandwiches (yet still require 2 slices instead of a one slice folded over sandwich), and this prevents waste. Plus, it’s yummy!

  209. L. Bowles August 7, 2017 at 3:46 pm #

Bento boxes is definitely my favorite packed lunch hack so my little toddler has a lot of options and doesn’t get bored with her meals

  231. Amanda August 7, 2017 at 5:05 pm #

The best lunch-packing thing I ever did was make up a list to hang on the refrigerator that includes all the possible lunch options divided into categories. The kids pick one item from each category and pack their own balanced, healthy lunches!

  232. Jennifer Virgadamo Duhon August 7, 2017 at 5:07 pm #

This will be our first year trying yumboxes, but my go to hack for packed lunches is prepping everything I can on Sunday nights for the whole week. It makes it so much easier on busy mornings. Also, I freeze my kids drinks. They act as an extra ice pack and are thawed for lunch, and super cold!

  233. christina galea parler August 7, 2017 at 5:07 pm #

This will be my first year packing lunches for my kids as my little guy is just starting first grade so I don’t really have any tricks yet but I do plan on packing his lunch the night before and all the little sections in the Yumbox will defiantly help makes packing his lunch easier. YumBox upped my lunch game big time. My most useful hack is putting food on an toothpick or hour’derve stick. Anything. Fruit. Meats. Cheese. Sometimes all 3! My kids think its awesome when I scratch a message in the banana peel. You can see it by lunchtime because that park turns brown. Their minds were blown.

  348. LeeAnn Lutz August 8, 2017 at 6:44 pm #

Our Yumbox hack? We pack our boxes the night before, and even two days before we need them. Everything stays fresh and dry. My trick for lunchbox packing is having a few different choices for each food group and letting my kids pick one from each group. It makes them feel in charge and gives them the age appropriate responsibility of packing the lunchbox themselves.

  361. Kelly Degner Calvo August 9, 2017 at 8:28 am #

We love our yumboxes! Our favorite hack is putting a “surprise” in one of the compartments, under the food item. This makes the kiddos excited to eat from all the compartments and acts as a prize for finishing. It could be a candy, note, sticker or some other little prize.

  395. Amanda Fi August 10, 2017 at 9:39 am #

There ate two lunch hacks I use all the time because when your packing lunch for 3 boys for school & the husbands work lunch 4lunch every morning gets to be a lot.
My family eats a lot of pb&j so I will make the weeks peanut butter and jelly sandwiches then freeze them so each morning I can pull them out of the freeze put them in each persons lunch bag and by the time lunch rolls around they are good to go and not soggy. Another main hack I use is for apples we love fruit especially apples but once you cut an apple it turns brown. So each morning I will cut the apples then pull them back up whole and wrap a rubber band around it so it doesn’t turn brown and everybody has a nice non Brown Apple lol.

I’ve never tried yumbox but I would love for my 4 guys to try them out or at least my 3 littles. And the only reason I have not purchased any is because if I buy one kid one the other 2 want the same thing no matter what it is so budgeting is everything even when it comes to lunch.

Thanks for the chance much appreciated

I use cookie cutters for sandwiches or i decorate things that come in packages (like turning a cheese stick into a snowman!)

  397. Katie rowe August 10, 2017 at 9:56 am #

We love Yumbox! Kids always get well-rounded lunch and they are excited to pick out foods to eat and they know there is ALWAYS a fruit and veggie! That in itself is a win for us!

  398. Katie August 10, 2017 at 9:58 am #

I actually love packing my yumboxes. Both for myself and my son! It makes me be creative about what is going in and I pack fresh food rather than tossing in packaged garbage.

  399. Rachel Kronvold August 10, 2017 at 10:16 am #

Our daughter loves when I pack either GFDF shrimp spring rolls with fresh fruit and GFDF chow mein noodles or taco salad with DF cheese and sour cream, plus fresh fruit. Our son loves when I pack a homemade lunchable: GFDF crackers, DF cheese slices, GFDF uncured lunch meat and fresh fruit.

What is your favorite packed lunch hack?

Cutting grapes or cherry tomatoes by placing them on plate and then putting another plate on top of them. Add a little pressures to the top plate while sliding a large knife between the two plates. Lift the top plate off and, voila, you have grapes and/or tomatoes neatly slice in half.

  411. Kristen August 10, 2017 at 10:36 am #

My kids love when I make them munchables (homemade lunchables, mom lunchables). Much healthier than actual lunchables, but just as fun.

  412. Abbey August 10, 2017 at 10:37 am #

I love to pack lunches that have protein, fruit and vegetable, and some sort of whole grain. …. That said, I don’t always succeed, but am trying to train my kids to pack lunches with those components and the yumboxes with the graphics of the food groups in the bottom definitely help!

My favorite packed lunch hack is to pack a variety of different yummy and healthy items such as hard boiled eggs, baby carrots, grapes, sliced apples with peanut butter, string cheese and nuts.

Freezing cheese sticks and grapes to help keep them fresh and keep our lunch boxes cool!

Packed lunch hack – we do “snack plates”. The kids load their Yumboxes full to the brim with easy to grab, easy to eat items – salami, string cheese, trail mix, nuts, sliced apples, grapes, and a few chocolate chips for dessert and off we go!

Freezing yogurt drops with fresh fruit and then topping with granola when packing lunches. My daughter likes the fruit to yogurt raito…

Also prewashing, chopping and desteming all fruits and vegetables on the weekend to prepare for the week ahead. Thanks for the opportunity to win

packing the night before for sure!!! love to pack the lunch while dishing up dinner – then it has time to cool before putting in the fridge and makes sure there’s enough leftovers!

Prep prep prep is the best hack! I make muffins, banana bread, cookies and freeze them ahead of time. Put them in my sons lunch the night before. Also chopping up veggies for the week and utilizing left overs!

Thank you. I prepare part of lunch the night before but cook fresh veggies in the morning. I would love bento boxes so the foods are divided.

We love DIY lunchables, triscuits/cheese/ham or pepperoni. My girls are big fans of bell peppers but are starting to like cucumbers too. And fruit, they really love their fruit!

yumboxes make it easy to give my kids lots of good-for-them food options. I love having them help pack lunches and pick out what protein, fruit, etc that they want to include!
